The inscription which the Cecil family had on his memorial tablet in the Burghley Chapel in St. Martin's church, Stamford reads "For many years the intrepid leader of the Conservative party, the patriotic servant of his country and a true and valued friend at Burghley house. 1804 - 1881" Affectionately known as "Dizzy" Clue - NOT Margaret Thatcher!
